Information for account checks
We ask for identity and address evidence as part of verification. Identity documents can include a passport, a national identity card or a driving licence. For your address, we generally accept a utility bill or bank statement issued within the previous three months.
Larger-value activity requires further checks. These may involve a liveness check and evidence of where your funds or wealth came from.
Sending documents
Use Verification in My Account to upload documents. Images need to be in colour, legible and uncropped, with the complete document visible. External verification specialists may assist us.
How verification information is used
We use account information to confirm identity, help secure accounts, detect or prevent crime and fulfil legal duties. Information is shared with trusted providers involved in verification or payments. We also disclose it to authorities when required by law.
Records relating to anti-money-laundering and identity checks are kept for a minimum of five years following account closure, unless legal requirements prescribe otherwise.
Ongoing checks
We periodically review account details and activity, including sanctions screening. Some account functions may be paused while checks are underway. If we need anything from you, we send a message through your account or by email.
For assistance with verification, reach our support team through live chat or email. Both channels offer verification support around the clock.
